  • Some Quick and Easy Techniques for Photoshop  By : David Peters
There are some pretty cool things you can do with Photoshop that can changed your view of text for a while. One interesting one is having some normal text and adding a few shades to make it fun and more interesting. It is in two easy steps: 1. First, create an image about 300 x 100 pixels, and 72 pixels/inch. Select a foreground color of #CACACA, and fill the image, to make the background this color. When you've filled the background, then select your text tool, and add the text you want to add, make the color of the text close to #3F3F3F A darker grey. 2. OK, now we can add the shadow. It is as easy as adding a layer effect and can come in very useful for other things too. Go to Blending Options (Right-click on text layer). You will get a menu with structure, elements and quality. In the structure menu you would select 100% opacity, 0% noise, and the solid not gradient option. For the elements you would want the technique to be softer, the spread 2% and the size 8pixels. For quality you want 55% range and 0% jitter. You can always play around a little with these, if it does not suit. (The color used for the shadow is #8A8A8A) So once you have that, just click OK, and you should get your final result. It's as easy as that!
  • Some Quick and Easy Techniques for Editing  By : Dan Brown..
In Digital photography, enhancement is very helpful to help you edit your pictures. Sometimes an original looks so bad, it appears as if nothing can be done to help it. Not true! A couple commonly used enhancements are angle correction of slanted pictures and barrel and pincushion correction. The angle correction basically defines itself in the title. If the picture is slightly titled then the angle correction enhancement will help it out quite a bit. One thing the tool needs to have is anti-aliasing. Barrel and pincushion correction is used to fix slanted horizons that were caused by the camera being used to zoom up as far is could go. These enhancements are used mainly for generally annoying changes that some people wouldn't even notice unless it was dramatic, but are useful nonetheless.

A fun idea to do is create an abstract picture, you can do anything you want to it. One fun idea is the add a fire look to a picture, here is a step by step way to do it: First thing's first, get a nice stock photo. I used a stock photo of an eye from deviantART.First of all I opened the photo and resized it to 75% of it's original size. 1. After you've opened your photo up, duplicate the background layer then apply Filter > Distort > Twirl and use the default setting. That should have just distorted it slightly. Now change the layer mode for your duplicated layer to Lighten. That will have made the eye look a little bit alien-like. 2. Now brighten up the picture a little bit by adding in a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Brightness/Contrast...) Now this is the part where you choose the fiery color for your photo. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map. I changed the layer mode for this layer to Linear Light and lowered the opacity to 85%. 3.Ok, here are some nice optional effects. Before adding effects like these, you'll probably need to flatten your image (Layer > Flatten Image) then duplicate the one remaininglayer. First, I applied Filter > Artistic > Rough Pastels with the default settings. Now change the layer mode for this layer to Lighten and maybe lower the opacity if you see it need sit. I lowered the opacity to 70%. 4. To finish this tutorial off, I flattened all the layers, applied Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen, faded the sharpen to about 40% (Edit > Fade) then I added in a little bit of tech and grunge.

Apply the gradient several times. Change the layer mode to "Linear Light". Duplicate layer. From "Filter" menu select "Liquify". Select forward warp tool and apply on this layer from down to upwards to create an effect of flames. Change the layer mode to "Pin Light". Select the background layer. Apply the same gradient that we used in the lady silhouette on the background layer. From "Filter" menu select "Render>>Difference Clouds". Reapply this filter a number of times. Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Duplicate the layer. Change the layer mode to "Linear Light".
  • Want to know some great tips for editing digital photography?  By : Dan Brown..
Many people have trouble knowing how or whether or not in the first place to edit their digital photos. Most photographs just don't turn out the way you imagined; they might be too dark, or too red, or too big. Depending on what you need in a digital photo-editing program, you may want to get a more simple or a slightly more advanced software. For example, if all you're planning on doing is correcting a few minor details in a picture, you want to go as simple as possible. If you're planning on adding things to pictures or taking them out, or changing the color of objects, you will want a more advanced program.

nt to get rid of that nasty shine that you get taking pictures? Well now you can, follow these easy steps: Let's start with a great, overlooked trick. After opening the image, open the same image again in a new window. In Photoshop, choose Window ->Arrange -> New Window. In Elements choose View->New Window. This allows you to view one window zoomed in for detail work and the other window at 100% so you can judge the effects. Using the magnifying glass tool draw a box around the area of shine. Make the box big enough to also show a fair amount of un-shiny skin. Select the Clone tool. At the top of the page select Mode: Darken and use the slider to set Opacity at 50%.Using the Clone Tool, select an area of un-shiny skin by putting the circle over the area and holding down the Alt button while left-clicking the mouse. To best match skin tone try to select the area of skin closest to the shine. Quick tip, to easily resize the Clone Tool circle simply use the bracket keys, [ and ] - much easier than moving your cursor back and forth between the photo and the Size slider. Now simply click on the shiny area and watch the magic happen. You'll have to experiment a little for best effect, and for larger areas be sure to resample the un-shiny skin frequently. In the zoomed-in image the effect might look too obvious, so you'll need to keep an eye on the 100% image to track your progress. Notice the difference on the tip of the nose, the cheek, and above his eye.

  • Editing Digital Photography Just Got Easier  By : Dan Brown..
These days you don't need a special camera to create awesome panoramic photographs. With Photoshop CS using Photomerge makes the process quick and easy. Photomerge in Photoshop CS was created especially for panoramic photography. The process itself is really quite easy but the results of the merge will be depend on the layout and image source quality. The Photomerge feature permits the selection of images intended for automatic panoramic Photomerge and it also allows for manual arrangements. Since your final photo depends on the quality of the source images it is necessary to make note of some tips when shooting scenic photographs. These tips include: Use manual exposure when shooting pictures. Merging the pictures later on will be difficult if different exposures per shot are used. Try to keep the camera as steady as possible when shooting. If you can, use a tripod to steady the camera. Keep a long distance between the camera and the subject, especially when working with landscapes. Chances of parallax are greater when objects are too close to the camera.

Creating better composition. This is the first and most important step in creating the perfect image. Get this right and your photo could be stunning. There are certain rules to the composition of the perfect image which we will not go into in detail here but you can adjust your image in Photoshop so that it adheres to some of these rules. For example, with a little creative use of the crop tool you can resize your image and adjust the position of the subject to fall into one of the key positions making it more pleasing to the eye. For example, in most cases, a central subject is not as effective as one that is offset to the side (adhering to the rule of thirds). Using crop can effectively move the subject over, up or down to position it perfectly.

The ICC or "International Color Consortium" was created in 1993 by a number major corporations with the goal of assisting end users in creating consistent color throughout the entire reproduction process. ICC profiles are a means by which one device can translate the same color information to another. This process is applied in graphics programs like Adobe Photoshop, and created in color management systems like X-rite's Pulse or ColorVision's Spyder software.

  • Content Writers: The Problem With Duplicate Content  By : JD Theis..
Recently a lot of questions have come to me all about the same thing. When using content writers or ghost writers, how can you tell if the content is duplicated or not and is that okay if it is duplicated. The issue of duplicate content seems to be a long lasting one as some see they loose results from it and others don't. The other problem is if you are paying someone to write content then it should be original content and not duplicate, otherwise anyone can be a content writer. Watch out for duplicate content writers, they are tricky because they will claim that your content is original and well thought out content. But if you go to www.copyscape.com you can enter in the url where your page of content is and run a check on this. This tool is great to use and is your protection against these things. Now, there may be times when some words are the same and this is fine as some writers look around and read other content and then make up their own version of it. But as long as it is not really blatant then you are safe. Another issue with content writers is sometime after they have written great content for you and others in your industry really like it then at times they will take that same content and will use it on their sites. This happens and there really isn't much you can do other then ask the site owner if they will remove your content or go through a mess of litigations. The problem with duplicate content is if too many sites have the same information then only 1 site gets the credit for it. Other sites may benefit from it but that requires a lot more content then just that one piece. If you want to make sure you get full credit for your original content or duplicate content them make sure you are blogging on your site, submitting articles and submitting to podcast directories and social bookmarking services.
