Ovarian cysts come about basically because of a failed or disordered ovulation. It is however important to know the causes for their formation. When the follicle cannot release an egg and keeps on growing - this is when the cyst gets formed. The cyst also gets formed when the place where the egg gets released is blocked even after it is released by the follicle. Because of this the corpus luteum cannot be formed and a cyst to appear. It has also been found in studies carried out recently that more xenoestorgens can be a primary cause in the formation of ovarian cysts.
To fully understand what causes an ovarian cyst, you need to have basic knowledge of the functioning of the endocrine glands. The brain's lower portion is the hypothalamus and below this is the pituitary gland. The hypothalamus starts sending pulses of gonadotropin-releasing (GnRH) to the pituitary gland when a woman's estrogen and progesterone levels drop. In turn, the pituitary gland sends the FSH or the follicle-stimulating hormone that targets the ovary, and this is responsible for beginning the ova`s (within the follicle) maturation process. These follicles ultimately discharge the estrogen. Within around ten days, the level of estrogen in a woman`s body goes up by a considerable extent. At this point the hypothalamus enhances the GnRH's production and the pituitary gland also makes the LH or the Luteinizing Hormone. Ovulation is further promoted by the LH and the follicles are turned into corpus luteum, which secretes progesterone (the dominating hormone in the reproductory cycle`s second half). If there is no pregnancy, the corpus luteum becomes degenerated and the estrogen and progesterone levels fall.
Although ovaries turn into small cysts every month, the follicles, keep on growing, eventually becoming a functional cyst itself. The cyst thus began its journey as something very normal when the menstrual cycle started. What precisely caused the dysfunction or the malfunction in the follicles, thus not allowing the egg to be released remains a question? Clinical opinion on this claims that exposure to xenobiotics, plus sundry environmental pollutants tend to imitate the chemical action that estrogen starts on the tissue of the baby. This can be linked to the fact that as when the embryo in the female grows, there may be as many as six hundred to eight hundred follicles, and every one of them remain inside the ovum that is not developed. Unfortunately enough, although these pollutants cannot make any impact on a mother, the baby, being far more exposed to xenobiotics, is usually affected when the ovarian follicles are rendered dysfunctional or become permanently damaged. The devastating effect causes the follicles never to become mature and this hampers the progesterone`s ability to secrete sufficiently. The damage does not come to light before the baby reaches puberty and holistic remedies remain the only hope in such a situation.
It may be apparent by now that ovarian cysts are not caused by any single factor nor do they respond to conventional medications prescribed by medicos in a vain attempt to control them. Actually, numerous issues are involved in the creation of ovarian cysts, some of which are still not identified or marked down. Also unknown are factors that are not directly involved in causing ovarian cysts but they still act as catalysts in aggravating the existing cyst. In their efforts in determining the causes of ovarian cyst in otherwise healthy females, doctors often think of psychological maladies, depression, malfunctioning of some of the vital organs and xenobiotics as probable triggers of this distressing disease condition. Because of the fact that there are so many contributing causes, what is needed is a multipronged approach - conventional remedies are not able to treat the condition successfully. Yes they may treat the problem and reduce the pain temporarily, but such remedies may lead to kidney or liver damage.
The basic problem is that conventional medications tend only to focus on the affected parts and never treat the disease as a unified whole. Whereas the cysts are not formed because of the fact that a single part of the body malfunctioned, but due to many reasons that relates to many organs in the body and their workings. Some people get ill often because of many genetic factors but that doesn`t mean that we should accept this helplessly. By following a holistic remedy, a person can even alter his genetic structure to some degree. The problem can be checked and the patient`s lost health and energy can be replenished. The holistic remedy is a method of treating the disease by following a healthy lifestyle and eating a diet that lets the body get rid of the toxic buildups and other elements that makes the immune system weak. There are many factors, such as imbalance in the hormones particularly at the menstruation cycle, sleeplessness and relentless stress, antibiotic medicines and steroids which can all bring on an ovarian cyst. A holistic approach achieves the cure and there is no need for any antibiotics or steroids - and this line of treatment is effective and safe too.
