In most product oriented societies, innovation starts with one item at a time brought to market but usually leads to eventual group packaging at a slight discount. Dental products have followed this trend for years and continue to innovate with the combinations. The bundled products can be sets of instruments or a product with several added ingredients to make it simulate multiple items.

Most people use dental products in the morning time when rushing to work or daily activities or late at night when sleep is desired above all and soon. Dental professionals have always wanted to make dental care in the home as easy as possible. Dentists are on of the areas of medicine trying to get everyone so healthy they barely need the professional's services.

Toothpastes have been combined with many dental products over the years and the work is not finished yet. Fluoride additives for strong teeth were among the first commercially viable additives and it is difficult to find toothpaste without them. Fluoride is so accepted as a dental health agent, it is put into most public water supplies.

The list of combination toothpastes has dozens on it. Mouthwash has been added to fight bacteria and make fresh breath. Whitening agents are put in to give everyone the bright white smile of movie stars but within our budget. Additives to reduce the sensitivity of teeth to hot and cold extremes are popular with sufferers of those problems. Special gum health ingredients work with the toothbrush action to reduce the chance of gum disease.

Modern toothpastes have the variety of the human population and our medical concerns for teeth. Many additives and fortifying agents have been added over the years with some addressing real problems and others done more for marketing. If a country is having a problem with gum disease, toothpaste designed to deliver a preventative when you brush will soon be on the market.

The extra dental products incorporated into toothpaste are many but all started with first a mild cleansing agent and then added fluoride. The fluoride was found to strengthen teeth and lower the risk from cavities. Toothpaste was a perfect vehicle to deliver the fluoride directly to the teeth while cleaning them as well.

Among the next dental products available in toothpaste was mouthwash and related breath freshening agents. Mouthwash was designed to make our breath fresher and fight cavity causing bacteria around the teeth and gums. Like the fluoride, the toothpaste was used widely and delivered the mouthwash right where it was needed.

With the image culture rising, everyone wanted bright white teeth so bleaching agents were the next dental products to add in the toothpaste mix. The whitening products were of several types and formulas so the marketing of them emphasized the effectiveness using movie stars for advertisements.
